After debating on whether or not to book a session, Tracy finally took the plunge and scheduled her shoot. Let us tell you, she was a literal beam of light in front of the camera, and her shoot was so special that we had to let you guys see it too. Everyone, meet Tracy.
What inspired you to book a session?
I had heard about you (HS Boudoir) through a friend and joined your FB group. Then I saw that you put out a model call and I thought to my self, 'should I do it?' I mean, I had done a boudoir session in the past but, it wasn't anything like I had seen on your page and it also had been years.
I was a different person now. I had kicked people who were toxic to the curb and made a complete 180 life change! I had spent the last 10 years working on me. "Fuck it," I said, why not, I deserve this!!!
And my birthday was coming up after all. So I took a leap and responded to the model call.
How did you feel leading up to your Boudoir Session?
Undoubtedly and understandably, I was nervous as hell! I was talking with a girlfriend about it and showed her my ideas and she her self had come out of an abusive situation. I asked if she wanted to do the session with me and she agreed! So, my solo session turned into a bestie session and YES, we were both still nervous but, we were each others personal hype person lol. Then, Heidi hyping us up on top of that turned into a day full of laughter, jokes and a complete BLAST!!!
How did you feel during your boudoir session?
You call the shots sister! I mean it. You decide how your hair and makeup will look, You decide what clothes and accessories you want to wear from what Heidi recommends and picks out for you. You have an idea? Throw it out there and Heidi will find a way. The possibilities are endless! It's your session and Heidi does what makes you feel the most comfortable.
What was your favorite part about your session?
Ooooh! My favorite part of the shoot, man that's hard to pick just one because we had several candid moments that were epic!
The 1st one that stands out is when we first started the session and we were decked out in body jewlery and angel wings. Heidi was trying to figure out how to pose us to get the full glorious effect . When I go, "Oooh Care (Carolyn), get up on the corner of the couch and stand!" Then I do the same thing and Heidi is like, "Oh ya! I see what you’re doing." Then as she "fluffs" the wings were laughing. Heidi started to test the lightning and I look at Care (Carolyn) and go, "Hey!" and she looks at me and I give her the "bird" and Care gave it back! We burst out in laughter while Heidi, of course, captures the moment!
Later, we were in another area of the studio and we took kick ass, rich widow light, bougie robe photos with a champagne toast like we had successfully "buried Earl!"
How did you feel after your boudoir session?
After getting to view the fruits of our labors, with the "Ooohs" and the "Ahhhs" of the final photos, I felt in awe of what I looked like. I hadn't seen myself like that for a long time. I felt empowered like I had taken my power back as a woman from the people who had done me wrong. I have several of my photos up in my room to remind myself of the queen/goddess that I am....even on the days when I don't feel it, I look at those photos and then am reminded.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about doing a session?
I would say that you feeling nervous beforehand is totally normal and your feelings are valid because booking a boudoir session for the first time has so many feelings all at once! It's new, it's unknown territory, and usually outside people's comfort zone. Trust me, I've been there. BUT, I can promise you those feelings will fade fast during your session and at the end you'll be like, "why was I nervous?", and you'll be laughing! Seriously, between Ashley (your hair/makeup artist) and Heidi, your girl boss, you'll have your very own personal hype team!
